The SAG awards are always a fashion filled event, but this year was something special. Red carpets are usually crowded with monochrome color palettes, but this year we saw more color than ever before. It was rare to see a black or white ensemble on the carpet, with the norm being boldly colored gowns with stripes and sharp accents adding even more color. There were a couple of simple pieces following the more traditional carpet color scheme: blacks, whites, nudes, blush pinks and reds. The silhouettes of those gowns are tighter than they have been in the past, and have different accents, such as a high slit or an interesting neckline at the top that make them fresh, new and exciting.
To incorporate some of these trends into your winter wardrobe look for chunky sweaters in a thick contrasting stripe and add striped handbags and shoes to spruce up your outfit even more. Looking for more of a daring style upgrade? Try some straight legged pants in a colorful stripe to freshen up your style for the warmer months. Try finding tighter fitting tops with interesting accents, such as a cold shoulder or detailed collar, to bring the skin-tight trend into your look.
