Music’s biggest night is back AND in New York City! As I am typing this all of these amazing celebrities and people in the music industry are literally one block away from me. Yep, one block. And I am here, watching the carpet in bed, wearing my Shuffle Along shirt, eating an entire bag of chips. Today I am going to be doing my annual review of the Grammy’s red carpet; judging all of the looks & giving you some tips on how to incorporate the biggest trends into your wardrobe.

The carpet this year was filled with people carrying and wearing white roses. These were in support of the #TimesUp movement fighting for equal pay and rights for all women. I LOVE that they did that because it causes people to ask questions, but it is subtle enough that it doesn’t distract from the looks and fun vibe of the show.

Starting off with one of my favorite people and one of my favorite Grammy dresses; Bebe Rexha wearing La Perla. I love the cut, I think it is so flattering and the pale pink color with the darker dusty rose accent is such a gorgeous color combination. I also love the corset detail on the top- another one of my favorite trends! A super easy way to bring this into your wardrobe is to pair a corset top with some mom jeans and a bomber: casual yet trendy.

I have always loved wearing pastel colors in the winter, I think I have talked so many times about how I hate the whole “no white after labor day” rule. Khalid does not disappoint in this pale pink almost white ensemble with the chartreuse shirt underneath. I love that the white rose almost blends in with his ensemble because it really makes it part of his outfit.

Here is where I get a little judgemental. I love Kirstin Maldonado so so much, but come on girlie. You look like a loofah. I appreciate the ruffles because I am a ruffle queen, but it is a little too ruffle-y. However, I love Scott Hoying’s mustard yellow jacket SO much! Mustard is everywhere right now- it is the biggest color trend of the season! It can be incorporated in every part of your wardrobe: my personal favorite is mustard colored pants.

I feel like Giuliana always makes it into my favorite outfits during the Grammy’s, because she just always looks amazing. I love her hair and how much detail is in her dress. The interlocking threads and the draping sheer fabric give me almost Cleopatra vibes. I don’t have anything else to say- I could just stare at this whole look all day long.

I’m literally obsessed with this dress! It is the purple pink color that I love- transitioning from the millennial pink color of 2017 to the Ultraviolet color of the year for 2018. I was surprised I didn’t see more purple on the carpet, which is why this look stood out to me so much. The beading, ruffles, lace work and corseting details just makes this dress such a gorgeous and memorable one.

The reason this dress is on my top list is because of the fringes. I have seen fringes and tassels everywhere, on everything from t-shirts and blouses to pants and skirts. Perfect for transitioning into the warmer weather that cannot come soon enough- look for a long sleeve sweater with tassels on the sleeves or along the hem.

Closing it out with another one of my favorite people at the moment: Camila Cabello. She wore the most amazing red gown by Vivienne Westwood that complements her so beautifully. She needs to wear red more because it looks SO GOOD with her complexion and her hair color. I love the ruffle on the top and the bunching on the waist, and the sparkly disco-ball bag elevates the look and makes it even more glam. I think red has become my favorite color, and whenever you wear it, even if it is just a red lip, it brings so much confidence to your whole day!

What was your favorite Grammy’s look?

xoxo Gabriela
