Where I Look For Inspiration- What I do when I am stuck

You know when you are just having one of those days? I have been having those days for a solid week. Just feeling very tired, overwhelmed and boringly uninspired. I have tried writing a post for this week many times, but my heart just wasn’t into it. The root of the problem is that I have run out of inspiration. So I decided to talk about what I do when I am feeling uninspired: hopefully this brings you and me out of our creative funks and brings us some inspiration.

1. Switch up your routine

We all get stuck in our schedules and feel like we are just following the same thing everyday and every week. Which is why each day I try to change it up a little. It doesn’t have to be in big ways, for example sometimes I just drink tea instead of coffee. Or I write with a blue pen instead of a black one just to break the routine. Maybe try taking a different route to work or watch a new show on TV. You’d be surprised how much these little changes will affect your day!

2. Get out of the house

This seems like such a  simple thing to do, but when you are not having a good day all you want to do is sit in your bed all day. Even if you are just getting out of the house, walking around the block, and going back inside, you would be surprised how much this changes your mood and your attitude. This not only gets you moving, but breathing the fresh air and seeing the sun are scientifically proven to better your mood.

3. Learn from the people who inspire you

When I am feeling uninspired, I look to some of my favorite bloggers and youtubers. I get inspired by creative people, by seeing what other people are making and thinking about. Some of my favorites are Jon Cozart for his super creative videos, Victoria of inthefrow.com for her amazing imagery & writing and Jenn Im for her editing and lookbook videos.

4.  Pinterest

Pinterest is an amazing corner of the internet where I wish we all lived. Just logging on and swiping through my feed clears up any sadness or bore and makes me want to do some DIY projects to make my house look super pinteresty. Don’t we all want our lived to be as organized as they seem on Pinterest? I certainly do.

5. Hang out with friends

I don’t have a lot of them (lol), but I do love all my friends. When I am in a funk sometimes the only thing I need is some company. So whether it’s going out for coffee or having a chill girls night and watching Scandal, surrounding myself with people I love always inspires me to create something great.

Where do you look for inspiration? Who inspires you?

xoxo Gabriela
