Army print is always a trend that starts up right when September begins. This year designers are using this military inspired pattern in different colors, like pink and red, in order to change it up and make it more girly. I was always nervous wearing army print would make me look too “edgy” or “boyish” which isn’t really my style. When I saw this super comfy army print sweatshirt by the brand PPLA I had to buy it (because I have an addiction to sweatshirts) and knew it would be the perfect style challenge.

I paired it with this lace up suede skirt from Missguided. I chose a skirt, instead of pants, to bring some more of a feminine feel to the outfit, but kept it in a dark color to match the underlying edgy vibe of the sweatshirt. For even more texture I paired it with these snakeskin looking boots from Zara and my crackled leather crossbody bag from Gigi New York. I love mixing pieces with different textures for the fall because it warms up the outfit and makes it more dimensional.

When styling this fall print, look to feminine silhouettes to keep the outfit from looking too grunge or casual. Extra style points if you find an army print in an unconventional color- this is how the trend is being translated for the current fall season.

What do you think of the military inspired trend?

I would also like to give a huge shoutout to the cast and crew of Bandstand for their closing night tonight! Bandstand is such a beautiful showing the healing power of music and you should all go listen to the soundtrack because it is BEAUTIFUL!
