Summer is one of my favorite times of year because you finally have time to do all those things you have been planning all year. Here are some items that are essential for me to have during the summertime.
- Re-fillable water bottle
Since it’s summer and the sun is hot, you need to remember to keep yourself hydrated. That is why I always keep a water bottle with me at all times. The one I have from Swell is both fashionable and functional and keeps water cold for 24 hours even when it has been in my car all day!
- Sunglasses
Sunglasses are a staple in my wardrobe year round, but I think it is especially important to have them during the summer time because the sun is always out!
- A good book
Now, I know you heard me rant about how having a book is important when traveling (link to travel post), but I think it is also important during the summer to keep yourself reading so you brain doesn’t turn to complete mush. I have been re-reading the Harry Potter series because of the upcoming book release and I love it.
- Perfume
Hot summer sun= sweaty me. To prevent from smelling bad all day, I always carry around either a rollerball or a solid perfume with me. Also, I start using more fruity scents because of the fun summer vibe they have.
- Hand and Body Lotion
You don’t realize how dry your skin gets when it is in the sun and chlorinated pool all day. That is why I try to remember to moisturize my skin after I shower. I also carry around a small hand lotion so I can moisturize my hands on the go.
- Hair Masks
For some reason, maybe the sun or the chlorine, the ends of my hair get super dry during the summer. To help this I use hair masks, either from Target or I make my own, so my hair can stay healthy and moisturized all year long. I also like using some coconut oil in my hair when it is wet to help with the dryness.
