Hey guys! I am still SUPER full from all the delicious (but unhealthy) food that I ate last night at a super bowl party that I went to. This post is going to be a roundup of the end of the game, and an amazing guacamole, salsa and sour cream football field recipe to get you ready for next year’s football season.

If you do not know by now who was playing, I will tell you because I do not judge. The game was between the New England Patriots vs. the Seattle Seahawks. The game was played at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona. The patriots won in the last 2 minutes of the game when they scored a touchdown changing the score from 24 to 21 Seahawks to 24 to 28 Patriots. I am a Seahawks fan, but I have to say that the Patriots brought their A-game to this one. The Seahawks were less than a yard away from the end zone when Malcom Butler intercepted the pass to Russell Wilson, making it a win for the New England Patriots.

Being that the Patriots won, that makes Tom Brady (pictured above with Patriots fullback James Develin) tied for the record for the quarterback with the most Super Bowl wins. He is tied with Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw. And, only 11 quarterbacks, including him, have won multiple Super Bowls.

Now onto food. I made the most ADORABLE appetizer to bring to my friend’s house. It was a guacamole, sour cream and salsa football field.

Guacamole recipe:
4 avocados
half a red onion
half a tomato
2 cloves of garlic
the juice of 1 lemon
the juice of ½ a lime
a handful of cilantro

First, you mush up the avocados, making sure not to leave any hard chunks. Then, you chop up the onion and tomato and throw that in with the avocado. Next, you finely chop the garlic and cilantro making sure they are small enough. Throw that into the bowl as well. Next, just squeeze your lemons and lime and you are good to go! You can totally adapt this to your taste buds, change the amounts or take stuff out and add ingredients to make it the way you like it!

After you have the guacamole, just take a can of your favorite salsa (or you can make your own) and your favorite sour cream (you could also use cheese dip or any other dip you prefer) and pour them into two separate bowls.

Here comes the tricky part, you have to take a rectangular dish and start scooping in the guacamole, leaving about a 3 inch gap along each side for the salsa and sour cream. I did this by take a plastic spatula and smushing the sides of the guacamole up, and then flattening the excess over the top. This should make it almost to the top of the container. Then carefully spoon the sour cream into one end of the bowl and salsa into the other.

Next, take a pastry piping bag (or just a sturdy plastic bag with a corner cut off) and fill it with sour cream. Then, pipe the sour cream in lines onto the parts where the salsa and sour cream meet the guacamole. Depending on the size of your dish, you can do a different amount of “yard lines”. Since mine was kind of small, I was only able to fit a line down the middle of the guacamole, serving as the 50 yard line. Don’t forget to draw short little lines at the top and bottom of the guacamole serving as the dividers in the yard lines (see the pictures along the bottom for guidance).

The last step is making the goal posts. For this you need pretzel sticks. I bought mine at whole foods, but you can even use the ones that come in the little yellow pack 🙂  You take 4 of them and arrange them into the
shape of the goal post. To connect them, melt some chocolate (I used white chocolate) and dip the ends into it and carefully push them where they need to go. The key is to wait at least 20 minutes for them to dry. I only waited 5 and they broke as soon as I picked them up. To insert them, attach them onto a piece of cheese to anchor it down and push it into the salsa and sour cream sides.

Now you are finished! This is a snack that will get so many complements, and you can tell them you made the guacamole yourself!
