I’m going to be real with you all- I don’t have a date for Valentines day. For 4 years straight I have enjoyed my Valentines day by watching my favorite musical movies and baking sugar cookies covered with bright pink icing. (The Last Five Years is my favorite musical movie and this is the best sugar cookie recipe on the planet.) This year, me and my friends are going to throw a “Galentines day” party to celebrate our friendship.
That made the task of picking an outfit even harder.
Over an hour of me walking around my room, throwing my clothes on the floor and failing to find something that was “Valentines Day appropriate”, I decided to put on what I wanted to wear. So, I got rid of all the preconceived notions of what girls should wear on this day and put on what I wanted, what I was comfortable with and what I wanted to wear to celebrate with all my girls.
I chose the most comfortable jeans I own and paired them with my favorite new tank top from Miss Selfridge, which is on sale for under $10! Because I didn’t want to skip out on the Valentines Day theme completely, so I added feminine accents to my look. My favorite Kate Spade bag, Chanel inspired shoes from Zara, and dainty pearl jewelry give this look a feminine vibe. This satin bomber from H&M is actually Hannah’s who found it in the sale section.
So, I am not going to tell you what to wear on Valentines Day. I am here to tell you to wear what YOU want to wear. If you are like me and don’t have a date for Valentines Day, surround yourself with people you love. We don’t tell our friends we love them enough so (*sappy alert*) take some time next Tuesday to show your friends you care!
