The best way to get through holiday shopping and all the sales without wanting to pull your hair out is to be focused. I’ve learned that if I go into it without a list of things I want, I get too overwhelmed and end up with nothing or with pieces I don’t actually love. Here are the items I am looking for during the sales, and I’ve linked similar items, or options at different retailers- I don’t know who is going to have the best prices.
Here are the items that are on the top of my list. They are all classic pieces that I will have season after season. I always find it difficult to shop for basics, so this time of year I focus on that! There are always going to be unique pieces that you will see throughout the year, but don’t underestimate a good basic!

Mom Jeans:
I bought a pair of Levi’s Wedgie jeans the other year and have been wearing them non stop! This season I am looking for them in a lighter wash and a pair with some rips because I wear my one pair wayyy to more than is socially acceptable.
Black Turtleneck:
I know, the most basic of the basic. But I really don’t have a plain black turtleneck. I’ve been reaching for one almost every day- it is the perfect layering piece for the colder weather, and can completely transform any outfit.
Straight Leg Faux Leather Pants:
It seems like every single blogger has a pair of these, and I can see why. I wear black jeans almost every day, when I’m not wearing my Levi’s wedgie jeans, so I’m looking to add in a faux leather pair to switch it up a little bit. I’m keeping my eyes on the XLE pair, I’m obsessed with everything Lauren Elizabeth makes and does.
Bathingsuit:
I know, not the most time sensitive item to buy, but something that is the hardest thing to find. Whenever I need a well fitting bikini, I can never find one, so I am looking to splurge a little on a good quality suit.
Midi Length Turtleneck Dress:
I have some casual holiday events coming up and realized, surprisingly enough, I don’t have any casual dresses. I either have super fancy dresses (i’m ready to go to a gala at a moments notice) or jeans and a top. So, I’m looking for a long tight turtleneck dress that can easily be transformed with some jewelry and a cool pair of heels.
Silk Pajamas & Pajama Sets
I’ve decided that since I’m turning 21, it is time to get actual pajamas. Yep, no more baggy t shirts or pink cheetah pajama pants that I’ve had since 6th grade. I gotta be an adult now… buuuut maybe I’ll keep the cheetah pants…
