Hey guys and sorry it has been so long, many things have been happening recently, but now that I am on february break I will be working on new content for you guys and connecting with my blog more! Anyway, since New York Fashion Week is drawing to a close, I thought I would do a review of one of my favorite designers’ fall 2015 line: Kate Spade. I love how everything she makes is classy, girly and fun all at the same time. This collection is no different…

One of the first things I noticed was the fabrics she chose. She added some great texture with wool, leather and fur. Fur was incorporated in small places, like the cuffs of jackets and on the collars, which makes it wearable instead of full fur coats (although there is one in there for you fur fanatics). Leather was included in her purses, but she also has a long leather jacket in there, which was a happy surprise. This added some edge to her collection and broadened her range of customers.

I honestly almost squealed in delight when I saw that she used plaid. I am in love with plaid, but people avoid it because they do not want to look like a schoolgirl. Kate prevented that by choosing the plaid in a bold red color, which makes it look trendy instead of professional.

The major colors in the fall collection are gray, cream, navy, pink and red. This is one of the main reasons why I love Kate Spade; She always has bright colors in her collections, but she also keeps some neutrals for those of us who are a little afraid of color. What I like about these neutrals is they are not boring. The pieces that are in a neutral tone have a pattern or texture that counteracts their bland color. For those who do like color, there are items in bright red and shocking pink, so do not be disappointed.

It would not be Kate without some bows and I like how she keeps them pretty simple, by putting them in places that make sense. Around the waist, on the collar, or in the back of a dress, they add the perfect youthful and girly touch to every outfit.

Overall, the collection has something for everyone. Want something simple? go for the clean-cut pants and collared top in a neutral color. Want to stand out? Try a bright red plaid skirt of the hot pink coat. Mix these pieces together for a look that is perfectly in between!

What do you think of the collection? Who is your current designer obsession? Tell me in the comments below and as always…

Have a glamorous day!
xoxo G
