I love watching awards shows to see the glamorous gowns they wear and their, sometimes good sometimes bad, makeup looks. So of course I watched the screen actors guild awards the other night on January 25th.

For those of you who do not know, The Screen Actors Guild Awards, or “SAG awards” for short, honor the best actors and actresses in film and television. The only awards they give out are for acting which makes them a pretty short award show to watch, perfect for a sunday when you have work the next day 😉 If you want to know who won what, you can skip down to the bottom, but right now I am going to talk about who wore what.

kaley-cuoco-290

Starting off with Kaley Cuoco. Wether she is cutting her hair or wearing a hot pink dress, she always manages to look fabulous. This years SAG awards was no different. She wore a strapless red Romona Keveza dress with a little bow belt at the waist. The red brought out the tan in her skin and complemented her blonde hair perfectly. She has an amazing upper body (shoulders and arms) so the strapless fit was the best choice for her! Her makeup artist, Jamie Greenberg from Elizabeth Arden, decided to go for a simple makeup look to, with influences from Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly, to  ‘complement the dress, not compete”. He achieved this by layering multiple foundations, multiple eyeshadows and multiple lip products, all from Elizabeth Arden of course 🙂 The simplicity of both her makeup and her dress made her natural beauty shine for itself.

maria-menounos-290

The next actress that I want to talk about is Maria Menounos. OH. MY. GOD. When I saw this dress I started jumping up and down and counting my money trying to find a way that I could buy this dress. This is again a strapless Romona Keveza gown but it is completely different than the one Kaley wore. This dress flows out from the waist and puddles up on the floor the perfect amount. Let us just take a moment and appreciate the color! This gorgeous gold color makes Maria look like a goddess. It complements her brown hair and tan skin perfectly and gives her such a glowing look! Her makeup artist went for a bronzed look which again, works perfectly with the dress. Keeping the hair straight down the back let the dress take center stage. This is my favorite look from this years SAG awards!

lupita-nyongo-435

The last look that I am going to talk about is Lupita Nyong’o. This dress was such a fashion risk being that is is a mix of patterns, but I personally think she pulled it off nicely. The colors accentuate her dark skin perfectly and the low neckline, long sleeves and super flared cut of the dress echoed old hollywood glam. This Ellie Saab gown is a mix of digital floral prints and stripes and that makes this dress such a unique (and wonderful) choice. Keeping the hair in a bun was the best choice so as not to disrupt the dress. I love this dress so much and she pulled it off with so much class and elegance.

So thats that! My round up of my favorite looks from the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards. If you are interested in the winners, they are down at the bottom,

Have a glamorous day!
