Why You’re Seeing Bloggers Post Christmas Content Already

We’ve all seen it, this past week it seems like every blogger has decorated their space for Christmas and is already sharing all their Christmas content. I am here to explain to you all why.

Everyone in the blogging community knows that 4-6 weeks prior to a holiday or major shopping event is the time frame you need to start posting content. I don’t know who exactly came up with it, but it has become the rule of thumb to post following that timeline. The affiliate link sites (LikeToKnowIt or ShopStyleCollective) all start sharing content guides surrounding the holidays in that same time frame. [I got an email 2 weeks BEFORE HALLOWEEN saying ‘TIS THE SEASON]

I don’t know if I agree with posting that early. I completely agree with starting to share Black Friday tips and gift guides (both of which I’m working on, don’t worry), but full Christmas content is pushing it a little for me. I like to take my time with things, it makes the holidays so much easier to enjoy.

I’ve been feeling a lot of pressure lately to be following that norm of content posting, and I’ve been getting down on myself for “being late” with holiday content. Because I LOVE helping you all out during the holidays, whether it’s finding you the best deals on presents for your loved ones, or giving some tips on how to make the most of the holidays.

Don’t worry, the holiday content is coming!

I just feel like it overwhelms your audience when you give them so much content surrounding one thing. It gives them too much to digest at once. And I also think it takes some of the authenticity and trust away from your brand. It makes people think you are just out for the increased commission that happens this time of year. I think it could get some people prematurely stressed about the holidays.

Remember the impact of your influence.

Take it from someone who is constantly future focused- take life one moment at a time. It makes it so much more enjoyable.

These were just some of my thoughts! What do you think of the early holiday content?

Let me know in the comments!

xoxo
