Century 21 x We Wore What

Yesterday, the We Wore What pop up shop opened at Century 21 Edition on Dey Street (NYC). Danielle Bernstein, founder and blogger of WeWoreWhat.com, picked through Century 21 and put together a collection of designer and contemporary brands to sell in this curated pop up shop. The prices range from $29.99 to $2,999. From Vintage Havana, to Valentino, Free People to Jean Paul Gaultier, the range of designers was endless. The collection is open until Sunday November 1st and is a must see! I had the pleasure of attending the opening party last night with Danielle and decided to do a quick review for you guys…

First of all, the store is gorgeous. The grey stone walls with the gold rolling racks and accents really let the clothing shine. And shine it did. The clothing was merchandised beautifully! It was grouped by color and material rather than price. I thought it was so amazing that they combined designer clothing and budget priced items, and it actually worked!

The pieces that Danielle picked were completely on trend. There was a plethora of faux fur, leather and suede, textures that are super in right now. Followers of her blog will know that she has been loving these textures for the fall/winter season. This was something that I actually found very surprising about this whole collection, it actually looked like her.

I asked her how about the collection and she started talking about how long it took for her to pick out all those pieces. She actually put together each of the mannequins and racks that you saw, it wasn’t some person she hired. Throughout the night, she gave people recommendations, took pictures in the photo booth, drank some a lot of wine, and chatted with every person who attended.

As for what I purchased, I bought a silver striped skirt and top set from WOW couture that I thought would be perfect to wear to a cocktail party with heels. It reminded me of something Alexander McQueen would design, and it had the whole WeWoreWhat vibe, so of course I had to get it 🙂

Thanks for an amazing night Danielle, I am so proud of you for doing this! If you guys are in the area, you have to go to this collection this weekend, YOU CANNOT MISS THIS! You really have to see it to believe it…
